Better Health, Better Plan, Better Life

Your health is a serious thing to handle, even when you're young. Eating and drinking is a habit in the world, but most people don't look at the nutrition facts before taking a bite or sip. But we need to be well and stay well to prevent ourselves from diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity. Here's a list of tips that you and your parents can use to live a healthy life.

Tip#1- Go to the doctor and dentist for regular check-ups- It's important to go to the doctor to examine what's happening with your body and to the dentist to check-up on your teeth.

Tip#2- Exercise for 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes- Walking, running or jogging throughout your neighborhood for a little while can help your body get energized. Plus, also do some push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks and weight-lifting.

Tip#3- Look at the nutrition facts and think before you eat- Many people choose what they're eating when they pick up the brand at a supermarket or choose what's on the menu at a restaurant, but they don't see how many calories it hold. So, I recommend looking up the nutrition facts on packages of food and online on restaurant websites before thinking and choosing which food is worth eating. I also recommend borrowing the books of the Eat This, Not That series (written by David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding) at your local library. These books can help you and your parents pick foods with better calories and values that can you in healthy shape.

Tip#4- Check the scale every week- Stand on your body scale one or two times a week to see how much you're weighting in your body. If you don't have a body scale, ask your parents to buy one.

Tip#5- Balance what you're eating every day- You have to eat in balance every single day to help keep your body intact. I recommend having three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and two snacks a day. I also recommend getting a serving of fruit and vegetable every day to stay active.

Use these tips wisely. Show them to your parents. These tips will help you elevate into a better and healthy lifestyle for you and your family. Because, if not soon, when?
