Oscar Picks 2014

Well, it's Oscar time, again. As always, before the big dance, we got to think about who going with somebody who's speechless and golden (if you know what I mean). I may not see a lot of the nominated films lately, but I got to think who's worthy to take home an Oscar this coming Sunday. Now, here are my picks.

Best Picture:
-American Hustle
-Captain Phillips
-Dallas Buyers Club
-Gravity
-Her
-Nebraska
-Philomena
-12 Years a Slave
-The Wolf of Wall Street

Should Win: All the big momentum in the past weeks have been focused on 12 Years a Slave, but I think Gravity should have a surprise win.

Could Win: Slave could still have a chance.

Best Actor:
-Christian Bale, American Hustle
-Bruce Dern, Nebraska
-Leonardo DiCaprio, The Wolf of Wall Street
-Chiwetel Ejiofor, 12 Years a Slave
-Matthew McConaughey, Dallas Buyer Club

Should Win: Let's hear a "all right, all right, all right!" McConaughey got this one in the bag.

Could Win: McConaughey

Best Actress:
-Amy Adams, American Hustle
-Cate Blanchett, Blue Jasmine
-Sandra Bullock, Gravity
-Judi Dench, Philomena
-Meryl Streep, August: Osage Country

Should Win: Woody Allen's recent troubles could give voters some thoughts about Blanchett, but Bullock could score another surprise Oscar.

Could Win: Then again, Blanchett could still be possible.

Best Supporting Actor:
-Barkhad Abdi, Captain Phillips
-Bradley Cooper, American Hustle
-Michael Fassbender, 12 Years a Slave
-Jonah Hill, The Wolf of Wall Street
-Jared Leto, Dallas Buyer Club

Should Win: Here's hoping a comeback standing ovation for Leto, come Sunday

Could Win: Leto

Best Supporting Actress:
-Sally Hawkins, Blue Jasmine
-Jennifer Lawrence, American Hustle
-Lupita Nyong'o, 12 Years a Slave
-Julia Roberts, August: Osage County
-June Squibb, Nebraska

Should Win: Nyong'o. This should be the start of brand new things for the newcomer.

Could Win: Lawrence or Squibb could still pull a surprise win trick out of the hat.

Best Director:
-Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity
-Steve McQueen, 12 Years a Slave
-Alexander Payne, Nebraska
-David O. Russell, American Hustle
-Martin Scorsese, The Wolf of Wall Street

Should Win: Cuaron, for bringing the space world of Gravity to grand and marvelous life.

Could Win: Cuaron
